at St. John Lutheran Church (315 Rosewood Avenue, Boerne)
Featuring Jack Wilson
“Active shooter” has become an all-too-common phrase in the news. As these incidents continue to occur across the country, understanding how to react to an active-shooter situation could be the key to protecting your life and the lives of those around you. Preparation is key to survival, and a devout Christian and church member by the name of Jack Wilson is living proof of this.
Jack is a member of the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, Texas. Jack was not just an ordinary member of the congregation, but also the head of the church safety team with whom he trained to stop active shooters. In December of 2019, Jack attended mass with his family and friends like he does every Sunday morning. Little did he know that an active shooter was hidden amongst the congregation that same morning with the intention to bring about death and destruction. When the active shooter revealed himself during mass and opened fire, Jack’s training and mental preparedness helped him swiftly stop evil from prevailing that day when he shot and killed the active shooter.
This is why U.S LawShield® has invited Jack Wilson to share his story. We hope to raise awareness and showcase the importance of active shooter training. Our goal is to inspire you to prepare to defend yourself in the worst-case scenario and ultimately save your life. Jack will take you through the events of that morning and share with you how his training helped him save his fellow congregation members. He’ll also talk about the aftermath and his experience with the legal system, which is also an important part of preparing for the most traumatic event of your life. U.S. LawShield® representatives will also be on hand to answer questions about how we advocate for members after a self-defense incident, just as they did for Jack Wilson that Sunday morning.
